The Legend of the Yello Frog
The Yellow Frog has been traveling the world by Internet trying to find people who share her views. She is very attractive because of her unusual color, small size and congenial personality.
Students in the College of Social Sciences at the University of Latvia in Riga found her wandering around looking for a home. After conversations with her, the students decided to create a new blog that could be her special place to rest. But this blog where she now resides is not only her home but also a place where students write to other students. The Yellow Frog is really happy now; she smiles and croaks more than ever. Because of the great and mighty Yellow Frog, who brings sunshine to the world (even during cloudy days, thunderstorms and scary Monday mornings), the students are very happy.
The faculty in the College are happy too because she matches the color (yellow) of their school flag and reminds them of the ponds in the countryside where they sit while they are considering important theories.
Some other fake frogs may try to pretend they are the Yellow Frog, but don’t be fooled. There is only one Yellow Frog and she is here on our blog and hopes to see you every day!
Does the Yellow Frog have a sister who would like to visit Florida? It has been very cloudy and cold here this winter. Her sunshine would be appreciated!
I think that winter in Florida is nothing compared to winter we have here in Latvia
Great blog!! I administer the Fulbright Scholar Program with Latvia, as well as with a number of other countries. Ardyth Sohn sent me a link to your blog, which I understand is the first student produced media at the U of Latvia. Very impressive and keep up the good work! It’s interesting for me to see what is on the minds of Latvian students.
Jean, thank you! We’ll try to make it more and more interesing! :))
Dear Yellow Frog.
Do you have a sister who wants to visit me in Wisconsin where it is warmer than Latvia
or Florida at least this year?
No.
Your articles are for when it absolutely, positively, needs to be understood oevnirght.
Terrific blog. I really enjoyed reading the Yellow Frog…and I love the name and “history” of the frog itself. Very clever and really cool!
